Dan Layton, Development Manager, ZEDHomes
Daniel (Dan) Layton is tasked with assembling the necessary consultancy expertise to deliver ZEDHomes’ schemes. He is currently responsible for seeing through to completion each of almost a score of planning applications for ZED’s across the country.
Layton has an accomplished working knowledge of construction, economic development and regeneration issues with direct experience of capital programme management and monitoring, as well as good technical knowledge of ZED technologies.
Before joining ZEDHomes, he worked as a Project Manager/ Regeneration Consultant for Dearle & Henderson. He was seconded to the Haringey Council Education Service, Property and Contracts team, where he project managed the Early Years’ programme support and capital monitoring, delivering the Sure Start capital programme (value 3.3 million) and project managing the Haringey Children’s Centre capital programme (value 5.75 million).
Prior to this, Layton had built up a wide portfolio of public sector experience. He supported the North Leyton Sure Start scheme, steering the operation through the delivery of a successful capital works strategy, and had been involved in the evaluations of SRB (single regeneration budget) programmes in Doncaster and Dudley. He project managed the Baseline study at the Wolverhampton Black and Ethnic Minority Consortium, and was involved in the development of a new community centre at Thorpe Edge in Bradford.
Layton graduated in geography/urban and regional town planning. He has a post graduate diploma in property development and planning, and is part way through his Assessment of Professional Competence in Development and Planning (RICS).
His hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking, squash and wake boarding. /ends
