Background: Reality Telecom

Hampshire based Reality Telecom (www.realitytelecom.co.uk is licensed by OFCOM to operate telecommunications services throughout the EU.) It was founded in August 2001 to provide small and medium sized businesses with flexible, advanced telecoms services at an affordable cost.  It now boasts thousands of customers across a number of industries.

The company’s flagship product, Call Navigator™, has evolved a number of years, and the latest service, Call Navigator IP™, is a fully managed telecoms service that offers sophisticated call handling features. It allows business customers to share telephony services and applications over a secure telecoms network – meaning that businesses have access to features that they would otherwise be unable to cost-justify.

Reality Telecom offers high levels of ‘failover’ (if one part of the system fails, other parts take over) across its network, whose systems are housed in state of the art secure data centres, meaning that the service is highly reliable.

Reality Telecom boasts a core team of around 30 people, and forecasts a turnover in excess of £20 million by 2009.

To achieve this, it not only has a highly flexible, easy to use product base, but also boasts a board whose combined senior-level experience includes companies such as BT, the BBC, O2, T-mobile, MediaOne, Redstone, Cable & Wireless and Orange.

The company was founded by successful entrepreneur, CEO Simon Slater Thomas, who previously founded Redstone Communications, the first company to float on techMARK (in 2000).

Reality Telecom is funded by a number of private and institutional investors and sells through a network of channel partners across the UK./ends
