‘The Calcot’ Upgrades Business Facilities
Thursday 3 January 2008 @ 7:24 pm

One of Reading’s best loved and longest established privately owned hotels, The Best Western Calcot Hotel, has recently completed a series of improvements to enhance the experience for business clients.

Included in a comprehensive list of refurbishments is the introduction of Wi-Fi Internet facilities, new air conditioning and a new hotel lounge.

“We are well known for our amazing weekend entertainment programme” said hotel proprietor Ian Dunn. “Less known is that the hotel is also an increasingly popular venue for business travellers throughout the week and it is important that we continuously make improvements to keep pace with their expectations.  Our recent investment programme is one of the biggest we’ve made.”

‘Old Berkshire Bar’ / Lounge

The hotel has a new lounge / bar area, already a popular area for small impromptu meetings and ‘coffee meets’ in the area.  It has been designed to blend the friendly, comfortable feel of the hotel with a newer, softer look - a modern take on a business club.

Kennet & Avon Conference & Banqueting Suite

The Calcot Hotel’s Kennet & Avon Suite is one of the few purpose-built ballrooms in the Thames Valley. In addition to being an extremely popular venue for dinner dances, the suite is regularly in demand for large conferences and seminars where up to 200 delegates can be accommodated. (The hotel can also host conferences in two other suites.)

The suite has recently benefited from a refurbishment programme of £80 thousand including new carpeting throughout and an extensive new air conditioning system.

Wi-Fi Access

The modern day business traveller’s expectations are continually growing and the Calcot Hotel was quick to react to requests from guests requiring high speed Wi-Fi internet. Wi-Fi is now installed in all the hotel’s standard rooms and in all public areas and conference suites throughout the hotel.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the hotel has seen many changes over the years since the Dunn family took over the Calcot Hotel in 1975. The small single rooms with no private facilities have been consigned to history.  A continuous refurbishment programme ensures that rooms offer good facilities and high standards of cleanliness. The Calcot Hotel now boasts 78 well appointed bedrooms.

Best Western Calcot Hotel Corporate Clients

The Calcot Hotel has a growing base of local corporate clients who regularly use the hotel for accommodation, conferences and small meetings. Special corporate rates are now available on application to companies seeking quality accommodation at competitive prices in Reading/close to the M4.
