Big Ideas and Little Clients: Don’t Chicken Out Of Great PR
Wednesday 19 April 2006 @ 11:24 am

Businesses offering products and services for small children are being offered the chance to master self-promotion in a special public relations seminar running on May 15th, 2006 in Reading.

Amongst the seminar’s highlights, Twinkle, Twinkle, the real nappy company, will be talking through some of their PR successes as inspiration.

Designed especially for companies offering products and services to children, from baby wear to childcare, toys to parties, this unique half-day seminar challenges local enterprises to learn how to reach the terrible two - children, and their parents - without ‘chicken licken-ing’ away from ‘foxy-loxy’ PR.

Run by Zed PR in conjunction with the Reading Chronicle, the seminar aims to address some of the specific issues faced by companies working across the childrens’ market. How do you connect with children and their parents in a responsible manner, and what is the best way to employ giant ideas with dwarf-like budgets?

The course will address some of these issues, using talks and workshops. Claire Thompson, Director of Zed PR, and mother of two, thinks smaller companies have a lot to offer.

“Children’s companies are in a strange position because the eventual user of their products is not the buyer, so we will be considering the importance of behaving responsibly towards children and their parents, as well as working within franchise agreements. The seminar is a great opportunity to address some common concerns within a forum of like-minded businesses.”

The half-day seminar is being held on Monday May 15th 2006 from 9am to 1pm at the stunning Stonemartin Building, Forbury Gardens, Reading.

Places cost £100 per delegate.

Forthcoming monthly seminars will cover the creative sector; retailers; and health and wellbeing companies. For further details or to book a place on any of the seminars, please contact Nicola Rodie on (0118) 969 8966.
