Action 100 Bike Ride, the mass cycling event which challenges participants to undertake a sponsored pedal from Bristol to London in aid of Action Medical Research, is launching a brand new logo on Thursday 9th March in celebration of reaching its Silver Jubilee year.
Action 100 Bike Ride Chair, Ev Milker, will be joined by Steven Williams MP for Bristol and charity mascot Paddington Bear to unveil the 25th anniversary logo in a special photo-call for regional media. Paddington and Ev will be taking a seat on two bikes which sport the brand new logo on their wheels.
Action Medical Research, which has contributed to groundbreaking medical developments including the polio vaccine, the hip replacement and the use of ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, hopes that 2006 will see its best ever bike ride, and is looking to recruit 750 cyclists for the August bank holiday event. Enthusiasm is all that is required - riders of all ages, shapes and sizes have participated in the event’s history. Money raised will go towards continuing Action Medical Research’s pioneering work, including their current ‘Touching Tiny Lives’ campaign, which hopes to ensure that vulnerable babies, especially the premature, grow up healthy.
The photo-call will take place on Thursday 9th March 2006 at 5pm outside the
@Bristol building.
