Three Bristol postmen will be taking on the Action 100 bike ride, to raise money for the charity Action Medical Research.
Vic Garner, from the Fishponds Delivery Office in Bristol, is taking part in the 100-mile bike ride for the ninth year in a row, and will be cycling on his trusty Royal Mail bike. More…

Vic first got involved when an office manager at Royal Mail encouraged him to take part, and the company offered to match any sponsorship he raised for his journey.
Richard Penny has also taken part in the ride eight times already, and is keen to return again to the challenge at, with hundreds of others, raise money for Action Medical Research. Richard Scallan is a relative novice in comparison, having first taken part in the Action 100 last year and is now coming back for a second year after enjoying the ride so much.
The cyclists’ route takes them from Bristol, via Bath, Malborough, Newbury, Theale and Ascot before finishing at Chobham Rugby Club, a fun and challenging journey for serious cyclists and amateur enthusiasts alike. Vic Garner says of the event:
”It’s a super day out! It’s very well organised, and friendly and you get lots of support.”
