Bristol postman, Vic Garner is gearing up for a mammoth charity bike ride for the 8th year in succession. Vic will be pedalling the 100 miles from Bristol to Surrey in The Action 100 Bike Ride on Sunday 29th August in aid of leading charity Action Medical Research.
 
However, Vic from Fishponds Delivery Office doesn’t go for the easy option. Looking more like he’s taken a wrong turn on his daily round, Vic cycles in his uniform and rides his Royal Mail bike which has just 3 gears and weighs a fair bit more than the touring bikes more popular on the ride. 

Despite being a ‘busman’s holiday’, Vic is as enthusiastic as ever ‘There’s a really friendly atmosphere on the day. It’s a nice challenge and a good cause too. The Charity supports a wide range of medical conditions ranging from the unborn to the elderly.’

He continues, ‘I always get a few wise cracks from other riders when they see me and my bike. But I usually get the last laugh when I whiz passed them at one of the refreshments stops!’ 

The Action 100 ride isn’t just for those who are cycling fit and Action Medical Research is calling on people to join over 350 other riders on the day.
