Ex-BBC Finance Director Joins Reality
Wednesday 7 April 2004 @ 6:08 pm

Former finance director for BBC Broadcast, Glyn Thomas, has been appointed as non-executive director at Reality Telecom. This provides Reality with substantial experience of both finance and general management at a senior level as well as increasing the levels of corporate governance.

Simon Slater-Thomas, chief executive of Reality Telecom, worked closely with Glyn while at Redstone plc, Simon’s first entrepreneurial venture.

“Until now we’ve all thought about telecoms in a superficial way,” says Glyn. “Reality Telecom shows SMEs – and I’m sure in time larger organisations will benefit – how to manage their communications in a more organised way. The services it provides are so simple and user friendly it begs the question: Why have we – as businesses and consumers - had to put up with irritating and expensive telephone services for so long?”

Glyn’s career has encompassed a range of commercial sectors and ranged from blue chip multinationals to entrepreneurial start-ups. This has included positions of group treasurer or finance director for Rothmans International, Kingfisher, Reed Elsevier and Thomas Cook.
